Newly Weds Foods Banbury

Based on Lombard Way, Newly Weds Foods has been operational in Banbury since 2011. During that time our employee team has grown, and we now employ over 250 people. We have a Bakery, Blend factory and a dedicated Gluten Free factory. We operate over a range of shifts in our production facilities, have on site services including a QA team, Engineers, Supply Chain, Logistics, Payroll and HR  and we also have a dedicated on-site R&D team.

The Position

Newly Weds® Foods Ltd is looking for an innovative, conscientious and proactive Development Chef to join our Culinary and Marketing team in Banbury.

You will hold an industry recognised culinary certification, with a track record in culinary creativity. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the restaurant, foodservice or the food industry. You will be responsible for creating winning concepts using Newly Weds® Foods raw materials to excite, delight and inspire our retail and focus customers. You will be play a key role in promoting the culinary image of our business across the European food industry and will strive to maintain our culinary credibility with our R&D activities. You will be willing to undertake regular travel, to customer’s sites in addition to NWF locations when required.

What does it involve?

You will support the R&D, Marketing and Sales teams and will be responsible for providing culinary expertise and insight to internal and external stakeholders, actively participating in idea generation sessions by sharing your knowledge and expertise and creating applicable and creative menus.  You will work alongside the R&D and Marketing teams to deliver ‘high food value’ responses to customer requests. You will lead and present the culinary aspects at customer presentations and will build and maintain strong chef to chef relationships with our strategic customers. You will work with customers, prepare and execute customer demonstrations and onsite training, develop strong relationships with colleagues and customers and take responsibility for your own administration.

What skills will you need?

  • A trained Chef with flair, creativity and confidence
  • Knowledgeable and competent in European/Global food taste and creation
  • Self-starter, who is motivated and organised
  • Work on own or as part of a team
  • Able to complete tasks on time and to short lead-times
  • An understanding of the Food Industry essential (meat processing preferred)
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic Food Hygiene

Terms and conditions include:

Salary – circa £50k (dependent upon skills and experience)

Location – Newly Weds Foods Banbury, with regular travel to customers and NWF sites in UK and Europe

Working hours – 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pension – 3% paid via salary sacrifice, saving you tax and NI contributions

Annual Salary Reviews – an annual pay review is conducted every January
