Ossett Employees Raise £900 for the Salvation Army

Employees at the Newly Weds Foods site in Ossett have raised £900 for the Salvation Army. The fundraiser saw over 400 raffle tickets sold and 50 raffle prizes won, plus many sausage and bacon sandwiches as well as bake sale items purchased. Raffle prizes included a luxury Christmas hamper, a radio, toiletry gift sets, candles and chocolates. Resident bakers donated their goods for this charitable endeavour from lemon drizzle cake to reindeer cupcakes and chocolate cake.

The Salvation Army provides a range of services for the UK community, including affordable childcare and school clubs, combating loneliness in later life and helping homeless people go from the streets to a positive future. Their international campaigns have recently focused on people trafficking, providing school toilets, teaching literacy and giving farmers skills for life.
